Our experience since 1984 has lead us to believe that those who choose to become Image Consultants are very special people. They have learnt to make the best of themselves and want to share this with others.

Many people dream of becoming a consultant but never take it to the next stage. Running your own business is an exciting and challenging occupation, beating the 9 - 5 job hands down but it does need to be approached sensibly, with realistic plans.

We have helped people all over the world, achieve their ambitions, from all walks of life, with vastly differing educational backgrounds and experience but they all wanted to be involved in this beautiful business.

The range of Courses offered, includes Advanced Colour Analysis Training or Color Analysis Training, as it is spelt in the States, which imparts amazing depth and clarity to the subject and includes basic tuition in cosmetic application. The Advanced Colour Course is supported by the Female Style/Image and the Male Style and Corporate Image Courses which enable you to work towards taking the TFIC and City & Guilds Joint Award for experienced Consultants, should you choose.

Whatever your plans, we can help you achieve them, with comprehensive training, tailored to suit your circumstances, be it a part time occupation or a full time business.

Because of the many unique features in our system, the Courses can also be taken entirely by distance learning and excellent results are achieved. It is important that you practice your new skills, with help and ongoing advice from your tutor, who is only a phone call, fax or e-mail away.

Quick Start day Seminars are available for the Advanced Colour Analysis and Female Style courses at the special rate of just £199.00 with no further obligation.

The day will include your own Colourflair Consultation and personalised colour fan or Style Guide You will experience the system and learn why colour works to improve not only the way you look but also the way you feel. In addition you will have the opportunity to see our comprehensive Course materials and to ask any questions you may have.

If you wish to proceed, then simply pay for the day and recieve a 10% discount on your chosen course if you complete payment within 30 days. Please note this discount can only be offered as an alternative to any other offer or promotion that may be valid at the time

Should you decide, for whatever reason, not to proceed, simply pay the £199.00 and that's all there is to it! There will be no pressure on you. You will have the benefit of a professional consultation by leading consultant, Pat Scott Vincent and gained a great deal of knowledge about colour, the Image Profession and yourself.

All the seminars are tape recorded to save note taking and will be available to you should you decide to purchase a course. You will be able to commence practicing immediately you return home, while completing the correspondence aspect of the Course with the guidance of your tutor. If you follow our advice, you will start to earn very soon.

COLOUR AND IMAGE TRAINING -WHERE DO I START?

This will depend on how you want to develop your business.. We recommend the Advanced Colour Analysis Course as foundational for new students . We call it 'advanced', because it includes a number of fascinating holistic aspects to colour analysis, which are unique to our system. There is detailed information on the actual workings of colour.

The personality aspect and its clues to skin undertone, has additional benefits, enabling greater understanding of friends and family and helps those developing a life coaching practice

The useful knowledge gained from the iris pattern in the eye (not just the colour) and its relationship to skin tone and personality also adds to the reliability of our distance learning courses. And is fascinating for both you and the client.

Because of the holistic, therapeutic, aspect of our method, it also appeals to those who are already practicing in complimentary medicine. Understanding how colour and personality relate is very useful to interior designers and consultants already working in the field of beauty, will find it is a natural next step to increasing their skills.

The Colourflair Consultation is a wonderful confidence builder for clients of every age. Our draping system ensures that they see the dramatic improvement the right colours have upon facial skin, this is like a face lift on mature skins and puts them in control of their appearance. The female cosmetic lesson frequently leaves them amazed at how quickly and easily they can look naturally gorgeous.

For those wishing to qualify as an Image Consultant, it is necessary to add the Female Style Course

Pat Scott Vincent's desire to help women appreciate their own body, especially, when they do not look like a 'stick insect' model, was at the root of this clever combination of medical information about the various natural female body shapes and statistical figures for average proportions. This, combined with our unique body mapping system eliminates guess work when advising your client. and importantly, still enables you to exercise your own skills and flair, supported by the information you have gathered. Further visual aids are also included in the Course Kit, making it suitable for both one to one consultations and working in groups.

To complete your training, the Male Style and Corporate Image Course is available to those who wish to give wardrobe advice to male clients and develop a business in the corporate field. Male students may prefer this Course to Female Style. Specific visual aids and suiting drapes are included in this kit.

This teaches the essentials of how to guide men on dressing for success, both in one to one and group situations, together with the information needed to specialise in the business field. This is very much a growth area and benefits from considerably higher fees. Business advice is included in all Courses.

On satisfactory completion of the assignments required for each course, the appropriate COLOURFLAIR CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE will be awarded - with our congratulations.

On qualification in Colour Analysis, Associate membership of the 'Association of Colourflair Consultants' (AMACC) is open to licensed Consultants using COLOURFLAIR PERSONALISED COLOUR FANS. Full membership (MACC) is available to those qualifying in either the Female or Male Style Courses, when taken in addition to the Colour Course.

Should you wish, you can join The Federation of Image Consultants and to taking the TFIC and City & Guilds Joint Award in Image Consultancy, and application forms are included with your course.

Extra training is always available, should a student desire updating or have any particular requirements such as specialist wedding make-up. Please ask for further information.

WHAT MAKES THE COLOURFLAIR SYSTEM SO GOOD?

In the late thirties to early forties, developments in colour mixing, led to the discovery that it could be broken down into four naturally harmonising groups. These had strong associations with nature's prevailing colours throughout the year and so the concept of seasonal colours was born.

There are four distinct families of colour which have been given many names over the years, so do not be confused by other systems claiming that the seasons system is outdated or inferior.

The Colourflair method, which has grown out of this, also uses the fascinating connection between skin tone and genetic inheritance which research has uncovered over the years.

Using all this information in the exclusive Colourflair way, creates a personal session lasting around two hours which is totally fascinating for consultant and client alike. This, combined with 25 years of stastics; enables us to train very successfully by correspondence.

It is always possible to determine which of these groups is most flattering and within that "family" of colours is a natural harmony and tonal range, enabling complete co-ordination of clothes and cosmetics.

Natural variations of skin tone, hair or eye colour can easily be accommodated with the unique screen printed COLOURFLAIR PERSONALISED FAN.*

Each client receives a fan with over one hundred shades, and is shown how to make full use of their whole family of colour. These fans are exclusive to Colourflair and are loved by our clients, as they do not have just 30 or 40 individual shades to try and "match". To accommodate possible variations in skin tone, we also offer our 'Sixteen Fan System', a simple way to benefit clients without extra time and cost.

Pat Scott Vincent has developed a DRAPING SYSTEM, which enables both consultant and client to see which colours are best. This ensures clients have complete confidence in the result.

The Colourflair drape set covers all the basic colour harmonies, together with the essential neutral shades. Metallic gold and silver drapes are included together with four bridal drapes illustrating the classic shades of white and cream.

These professional poly-cotton drapes are designed for constant use, are non-fade, machine washable and have sewn hems. This enables them to be hung up for ease of use and avoids the laborious folding that is often necessary with unsewn materials. They are full size (approx. 24" x 15") making them suitable for both female and male clients. A set of six suiting drapes is also available and is included with the Male Style Course

As too many drapes were found to confuse and bore the client, we have chosen the key colours necessary for an accurate analysis. The client is also taught how to use colours which are either in their wardrobe or currently fashionable but not flattering.

OUR TRAINING BACKGROUND ?

The principal tutor and head trainer is Pat Scott Vincent, MACC, FFIC, MIAC. who founded the family run business in 1984 with the help of her husband Ray and daughter Maggy. When the business became a limited company in 1986 Pat was appointed Chairman.

She became a founder member of the Federation of Image Consultants in 1988 and subsequently served on the Executive Committee for several years before becoming President in 1994 for a two year term.

1995 saw the culmination of many years of work with the Federation, when Pat was one of the first people in the country to qualify for and receive the prestigious Joint TFIC and City & Guilds Award in Image Consultancy and became a 'Full Member' of the TFIC.

In September 1999 she was made a Life Member and 'Fellow' of the Federation in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the industry.

Pat has also completed courses in Colour Therapy and Feng Shui and has a Diploma in Life Coaching!.

She continues to study the remarkable discoveries made concerning the nature of light and colour and their influence on our lives and environment.

In the corporate field, Pat has worked with many companies over the years, including the Sony Corporation, the Body Shop, Marks & Spencers, Roedean School and Brighton & Hove Enterprise Agency. Owing to the training workload, Pat no longer takes on corporate engagements but does offer one to one consultations for corporate clients. (Corporate work for Colourflair is now undertaken by a specialised Colourflair Consultant. Please enquire.)

Ray Vincent, our Managing Director looks after the financial side of the business and, as we consider business management an important part of our training, shares his long experience with those who are often setting up a business for the first time.

Ray's background is in engineering, administration, design and planning and he holds certificates from the Dale Carnegie Institute in Business Management and Effective Speaking. He helped Pat start the Colourflair business in 1984 and eventually left his career with BT, to take charge of the day to day running of the business..

Also a founder member of the TFIC, Ray helped set up the constitution of the Federation and served for many years as Chair of Constitution & Ethics. When he stood down in 1996 he was awarded Life Membership in recognition of his service to TFIC.*

ONGOING SUPPORT SERVICES

Setting up your own business is exciting and rewarding and as Colourflair is not a franchise, you can remain independent but still receive our support as you get started. To that end, licensed Colourflair Consultants have FREE access to our advice on any matter pertaining to their business.

Reliable supplies are available to all We do not set sales quotas or demand a minimum level of business and the agreement can be cancelled by either party at any time.

The licence is renewable for a yearly fee, and includes registration on our RECOMMENDED CONSULTANTS LIST after qualification, a monthly newsletter and extra discounts on Personal Colour Fans for qualified consultants.

Licensed Consultants may also use the COLOURFLAIR/ASSOCIATION Logos in their own printed materials and artwork is supplied with your qualification welcome pack.

In addition you will have access to the highly regarded Jon Van G Cosmetic range and Susan Molyneux Skincare, which is suitable for both the needs of the colour consultant and the professional beauty therapist. None of the products are tested on animals.

Goods are despatched twice weekly and there is no minimum order quantity. Payment with order can be made by Cash, Postal Order, Cheque, or a wide range of Debit or Credit Cards. This ensures that you can offer your clients a good service without having to carry a large stock.

Membership of the 'Association of Colourflair Consultants' adds prestige and recognition, with letters after your name, your own membership certificate and an attractive gilt stick pin showing the 'ACC' logo (a wonderful conversation starter).

The ongoing support package or license agreement is free with any course for one year. The agreement describes the full range of benefits and service you can expect from us and in turn what we ask of you in terms of standards and integrity.

MORE ABOUT THE COLOURFLAIR SYSTEM

The Colourflair analysis is very different from others on the market, being scientifically based and uses five separate tests, to ensure the consultant accurately determines both the clients basic skin tone and secondary influences. This ensures your own and your clients confidence in the results.

Special daylight lamps, ensure accuracy and consistency. Suitable lighting is supplied with the course kit.

During your time at the studio, you will also be taught the fundamentals of cosmetic application, salon hygiene, functions of the skin, how to recognise basic skin types, marketing, setting up your business and simple book keeping.*

To complete your training, the remainder of the course is done by distance learning. This is combined with practical work, designed to ensure that you master techniques; train your eye and develop confidence, with your tutor, Pat Scott Vincent, only a phone call or e-mail away. Remember, if you follow our advice, you will be earning during this time.

This Course Workbook consists of eight assignments which enable you to learn about colour as well as taking you through each step of the Analysis. Followed by a Personal Colour Study for everyone you analyse while in training.

The distance learning assignments are designed to be done at your own pace. For the Advanced Colour Analysis training course, this averages between two to six months.

All aspects of the training have individual manuals from 'The Art of Make-up' to 'Marketing your Business' for example.

HOW WILL I BUILD MY BUSINESS?

Building a sound business starts from the moment you decide to become a consultant. Keep a special note book to jot down any ideas you have or suggestions you receive, even if you don't think much of them at the time. Some of those ideas may look positively brilliant, six months down the road!

Training as a Colour and Image Consultant, opens the doors to many excellent earning opportunities and a very good way to start is to build a client base and THEN develop repeat business with them. This will give a firm foundation from which you can develop into other areas. Below are listed a few suggestions:-

& Personal consultations for friends and family together with a mix of private and
professional clients

& Giving talks and demonstrations to your own clients on a wide range of subjects such
as fashion updates, cosmetics, or skincare.

& Working in groups and local adult education establishments.

& Working in the corporate field, with companies and staff.

& There is growing interest in life skills projects and the many skills you will learn as a
Colourflair Consultant will be very beneficial in this area

& More and more department stores employ Image Consultants to advise their clients.

& Offer your clients a personal shopping service.

& There is considerable growth in the stylist profession for which this training is an
excellent starting point.

& Developing your skills with cosmetics and skincare, brings income from sales as well
as work for weddings and special occasions.

& Our range of cosmetics and skincare is available to build up repeat business and
increase your profitability.

&     Natural health practitioners will feel particularly at home with this system, as so
          much of the information we use also relates to health, although the client may not
          be made aware of this. It need hardly be said that those people who already have
          training in areas such as hair and beauty, will find Colour or Style Analysis
          invaluable. Many people find this skill combines well with Interior Design.

Paying for your Colourflair Course

Having decided if you are attending A Quick Start Seminar or purchasing a distance learning package, simply use the Paypal shopping cart and select your chosen courses. Paypal will notify us of your purchase and we will take it from there We will acknowledge your order and ask you to complete a registration form and will dispatch your kit normally within three working days.

If you would rather deal direct with us please e-mail with your requirements and we will confirm your course availability by telephone or e-mail. On receipt of payment by Credit or Debit card, we will normally dispatch your course materials within three working days. When payment is received by cheque there will be a delay of about 10 days to allow for bank clearance.

If you are paying by cheque outside the UK, it must be payable from a UK bank in £ sterling, otherwise there will be long delays plus bank charges, which we will unfortunately have to pass on to you!

If paying by cheque in the UK, we will need full payment, at least 10 days in advance of the course commencing, to allow for clearance through the bank system.

Students travelling by public transport or visiting the UK from overseas, often prefer us to send goods on anyway, as the Advanced Colour Course manuals and kit weigh around 7 Kilos. Carriage cost will be a maximum of £11.00 for UK delivery but we will quote on individual courses
